Iowa requires every registered appraisal management company to file a $25,000 surety bond with the Division of Banking — ours is $750 flat, exactly 3% of the bond amount. The application is five minutes, and registration bonds like this are among the fastest things we issue.

Registration bonds are about the simplest thing in surety. Here is the entire process:
Company details and an effective date. That is the application — no financials, no credit-check section, no follow-up scavenger hunt.
Fixed-amount license bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond and power of attorney arrive by email, ready to file with the Iowa Division of Banking. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
$25,000 bond × 3% = $750, one-time per term. Fixed amount, fixed price, multi-year if you want it.
Iowa began regulating appraisal management companies in 2017 under Iowa Code chapter 543E, administered by the Division of Banking (Professional Licensing Bureau / Real Estate Appraiser Examining Board). An AMC that runs an appraiser panel above the statutory size must register — and conditions registration on a $25,000 surety bond.
The bond is a consumer- and appraiser-protection guarantee. It stands behind your faithful compliance with chapter 543E and pays liabilities, damages, or losses arising from your appraisal management services on Iowa real estate — most often unpaid appraiser fees.
It is not insurance for you. If the surety pays a valid claim, you repay the surety. AMCs that pay their panel on time and follow the rules treat the bond as a registration formality — so we track it and notify you 60 and 30 days out to keep the $25,000 filing continuous.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit-check section, because this bond doesn't have one.
