001.2023 *** STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS -- SERIES 2023 ***
The Iowa Department of Transportation STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR
HIGHWAY AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION, SERIES 2023, plus applicable General
Supplemental Specifications, Developmental Specifications, Supplemental
Specifications AND Special Provisions shall apply to construction work on this contract.
The project involves repairing three localized erosion and washout sites along roadway foreslopes and culvert outlets on U.S. 169 in Webster County. Work includes reconstructing eroded slopes, installing erosion and scour protection using Engineering Fabric, Erosion Stone, and Class E Revetment, repairing damaged shoulders and guardrail, reinstating culvert end sections, and restoring disturbed areas. Additionally, outstanding items from a previous project will be completed, including installation of subdrains, paved shoulders, and removal and reinstallation of steel beam guardrails and cable rail systems. Specific items include clearing and grubbing (0.09 acre), special backfill (7 tons), embankment-in-place (77 CY), excavation class 10 waste (1,145 CY), compaction with moisture control (59.23 CY), paved shoulder hot mix asphalt mixture 6 in. (22.2 SY), shoulder construction earth (0.3 STA), removal of existing structures (lump sum), concrete aprons 24 in. dia. (1 each), remove and reinstall concrete pipe aprons ≤ 36 in. (2 each), subdrain tile 4 in. dia. (120 LF), subdrain outlet DR-306 (4 each), remove and reinstall formed steel beam guardrail (175 LF), remove and reinstall high tension cable guardrail (212 LF), engineering fabric (702 SY), revetment class E (636 tons), erosion stone (693 tons), removal of pavement (207.5 SY), traffic control (lump sum), mobilization (lump sum), cable rail post and foundation core drilled & anchored (15 each), perimeter and slope sediment control device 12 in. dia. (300 LF), perimeter and slope sediment control device 20 in. dia. (300 LF), removal of perimeter and slope or ditch check sediment control device (600 LF), mobilizations erosion control (1 each), and mobilizations emergency erosion control (1 each).
