Nebraska licenses collection agencies through the Collection Agency Licensing Board, and Neb. Rev. Stat. § 45-608 conditions the license on a corporate surety bond sized by how many licensed solicitors you run — $5,000 under five, $10,000 for five to fifteen, and $15,000 at sixteen or more. The bond is payable to and approved by the Board and filed in the office of the Secretary of State. Pricing is 0.5% of the bond amount, $100 minimum, and the bond issues the moment you pay.

No quote round-trip on this bond — enter your amount, pay, and file with the Board. Here is the whole thing:
Your agency details, the bond amount your solicitor count requires, and the effective date — that is the entire application. No financial statements.
Your exact price appears before you pay, so there is nothing to wait on — the executed bond and power of attorney generate on the spot.
Submit the executed bond for the Collection Agency Licensing Board’s approval; it is filed in the office of the Secretary of State. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
Nebraska regulates debt collection under the Collection Agency Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 45-601 to 45-622. The Collection Agency Licensing Board — chaired by the Secretary of State — administers the Act, and no license issues until the applicant furnishes a good and sufficient corporate surety bond in the statutory amount.
Section 45-608 sizes the bond by licensed solicitor count: $15,000 for agencies with sixteen or more licensed solicitors, $10,000 for five to fifteen, and $5,000 for fewer than five. The bond is payable to and approved by the Board, in a form the Board approves, and is filed in the office of the Secretary of State. No person is required to post more than $100,000.
The condition is specific: you must faithfully perform all agreements with your clients and, within forty-five days after the close of each calendar month, report and pay each client the net proceeds of collections made the preceding month. A client you fail to account to can sue on the bond, though the surety’s aggregate liability never exceeds the penal sum. It is not insurance for you — if the surety pays, you repay the surety.
Submit the application with the bond amount your solicitor count requires — the executed bond is generated the moment you pay, ready to file.
