When ODOT grants a permit to work in the right of way — a utility installation, an approach road, or a miscellaneous-use permit — it can require a permit performance bond.
The bond guarantees you restore the highway to its prior condition and follow the conditions of your permit. If you damage the roadway, leave the work incomplete, or violate the permit and ODOT has to make it right, ODOT can recover against the bond.
