MS pest control bonds.
$275. Five minutes.

Mississippi conditions a pest control company license on a surety bond filed with the MDAC Bureau of Plant Industry. For insect, rodent, and plant-disease control work the bond is generally $5,000 — and at that size our flat 3% lands below our $275 minimum, so the price is simply $275.

About this bond

What it is and who needs it.

What the bond actually guarantees

Mississippi licenses pest control companies through the Department of Agriculture and Commerce's Bureau of Plant Industry, and conditions a company license on a surety bond. The bond is a performance-and-compliance guarantee: it stands behind the professional service contracts you sign and your compliance with the state pest-control law and the Bureau's rules.

It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the State of Mississippi together with your customers as the protected parties. If a company fails to perform a service contract or violates the pest-control regulations and someone is harmed, the harmed party can recover against the bond.

The minimum bond for insect, rodent, and plant-disease control work is $5,000; some service categories or higher-risk work can call for a larger amount. If your license category requires more, send us the figure and we'll issue it at the same flat 3%.

Miss. Code § 69-19-9Mississippi Code § 69-19-9 (the Mississippi Pesticide Application Law / pest-control licensing) and the Bureau of Plant Industry's regulations condition a pest control company license on a surety bond, conditioned upon faithful compliance with the Act and the rules and upon the faithful performance of all professional service contracts. The minimum is generally $5,000 for insect, rodent, and plant-disease control work; confirm the amount for your service categories on your application.

FAQs

Common questions.

If yours isn't here, the bond team can usually answer within the hour.

How much is the Mississippi pest control bond? +
The premium is $275. The bond amount is $5,000, and our flat 3% of that is $150 — below our $275 minimum — so the price is $275, the same for every company.
Do I pay the $5,000? +
No. You pay $275. The $5,000 is the surety's maximum liability if a valid claim is made against the bond — not a deposit, and nobody holds your money.
Who requires this bond? +
The MDAC Bureau of Plant Industry requires it as a condition of a pest control company license, under Miss. Code § 69-19-9 and the Bureau's regulations. No active bond, no license.
Is there a credit check? +
Not on this bond — the application has no credit section at all. Small fixed-amount license bonds like this one don't need one.
What if my category needs a larger bond? +
Some service categories or higher-risk work can require more than $5,000. If yours does, send us the amount the Bureau named and we'll issue it at the same flat 3% (with the $275 minimum).
