Chubbuck requires every individually licensed security guard or private investigator to file a $5,000 surety bond with the City Clerk before a license issues — ours is $100 flat, and the price you see is the checkout price. The application collects no credit information, so most applicants approve instantly.

A municipal individual-license bond is about the simplest thing in surety. Here's the entire process:
Your details and an effective date. That's the application — no financials, no credit section, no follow-up scavenger hunt.
Bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond arrives by email, ready to file with Chubbuck's City Clerk alongside your security guard or private investigator license application.
Chubbuck licenses individual security guards and private investigators, and separately the businesses and agencies that employ them, under City Code Chapter 5.24. Before any license issues, City Code 5.24.050 requires a surety bond filed with the City Clerk, conditioned on the licensee's faithful and honest conduct and on holding the City harmless for the licensee's acts.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the City of Chubbuck (the obligee), with anyone injured by a licensee's wilful, malicious, or wrongful act able to bring an action directly on the bond. The individual bond is set at $5,000; a security guard business or PI agency files a higher $10,000 bond instead.
It is not insurance for you — if the surety pays a claim, you repay the surety. Chubbuck licenses under this chapter run on a calendar year and expire December 31, so we track the renewal date and notify you ahead of the deadline to keep the bond continuous — City Code 5.24.050 also warns that if the bond lapses, the license is automatically forfeited.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit section, because this application doesn't collect credit information.
