Hawaii conditions a private detective, guard, or agency license on a $5,000 bond filed with the Board of Private Detectives and Guards under HRS chapter 463. At 3% the math lands below our floor, so the price is our $275 minimum.

License bonds are the simplest thing in surety. Here's the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That's the application — no financials, no credit check section.
License bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond arrives by email, ready to file with the Board of Private Detectives and Guards. The bond includes a 30-day cancellation notice to the Board. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
3% of $5,000 is $150 — below our $275 minimum — so the price is $275, one-time per term. Fixed amount, fixed price, multi-year if you want it.
Hawaii licenses private detectives, guards, and their agencies through the Board of Private Detectives and Guards under HRS chapter 463, and conditions each license on a $5,000 surety bond. The bond is conditioned on the honest conduct of the business of the licensee.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the State (the obligee). Any person injured by the willful, malicious, or wrongful act of the licensee may bring an action on the bond in the person's own name — and if the surety pays, you repay the surety.
The bond must stay active for your license. The surety must give the Board at least 30 days' written notice before any cancellation, and termination of the bond suspends the license until a replacement is filed — so we track it and send renewal notices ahead of expiration.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit check section, because this bond doesn't have one.
