Georgia requires an athlete agent to deposit a bond of not less than $10,000 with the Secretary of State before registration or renewal. Ours is $300 flat at the $10,000 amount — 3% of the bond. Five-minute application, no credit check on this bond.

Athlete agent bonds are simple. Here's the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That's the application — no financials, no credit check section.
Fixed-amount license bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond and power of attorney arrive by email, ready to deposit with your athlete agent registration. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
$10,000 bond × 3% = $300, one-time per term. Fixed amount, fixed price, multi-year if you want it.
An athlete agent recruits or solicits a student athlete to enter an agency contract. Georgia's Athlete Agents law (O.C.G.A. § 43-4A) conditions registration on a surety bond deposited with the Secretary of State — a guarantee that runs to athletic departments harmed by an agent's conduct.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the State of Georgia (the obligee). The bond is conditioned to pay damages to any athletic department aggrieved by an act of the agent that violates O.C.G.A. § 43-4A-13 or would be grounds for revocation.
The bond must be at least $10,000 and stay in force for your registration. If you let it lapse, your registration is suspended until a new bond is obtained — and you may not act as an athlete agent during suspension. We track it and notify you 60 and 30 days out, keeping your filing continuous.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit check section, because this bond doesn't have one.
