Hydrant Repair/Replacement, Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie

The contractor must supply and install one fire hydrant and valve to replace the damaged existing hydrant, supply CA-7 stone around the base and shoe for proper drainage, supply required pedestrian traffic control for work in a public way, supply trench protection to comply with OSHA standards, and supply backfill in the green area to match existing surrounding grades. The contractor must also dispose or recycle off-site all removed hydrant, valve, and pipe materials, provide adequate water for the work, and minimize dust. Equipment must be modern, in good condition, with a qualified operator, and all heavy equipment must be washed down and inspected for invasive plant species before entering the prairie.
