The project consists of the replacement of the Spring Gut Creek Bridge on Route 85 and rehabilitation of the existing asphalt and gravel roadway along a 2.28-mile segment of Spring Gut Road, beginning at South Shore Road (Route 62) and traveling south to the intersection with East End Road (Route 75). The existing structure, built in 1904, is in fair to poor condition with a temporary steel deck currently bridging the deteriorated original concrete tee beam structure. Work is to be performed under FHWA-funded federal-aid highway contract requirements, including Davis-Bacon wage provisions, Buy America domestic materials requirements, and standard federal highway construction specifications (FP-14).
