NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS
Subject: Invitation to Bid on Purchase Order Contract PRB.41229

Project Description: Helene Relief – Construction of Standard and Modular Bridge Replacement
at 175 McClure Cove Rd, Clyde
The North Carolina Department of Public Safety Emergency Management Division and the
Department of Transportation are requesting bids for the construction of Standard and Modular
Bridges on private roads over McClure Creek at 1175 McClure Cove Rd in Haywood County to
be let at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
The date of availability for bridge construction at site is the date the Contractor begins work, but
not before December 14, 2026 and no later than July 4, 2027.
The completion date for this contract is the date that is sixty (60) consecutive calendar days after
and including the date of availability.
Because of the unusual nature of the work involved and in order for all prospective bidders to
have extensive knowledge of the project, an open, virtual Pre-Bid Conference will be held for all
interested parties on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at 10:00 am.

This is not a mandatory pre-bid conference however all potential bidders are strongly
encouraged to attend.
Remove the existing 35-foot damaged private bridge and construct a 50-foot steel-beam with timber decking bridge or 60-foot modular steel bridge with 12-foot clear width, including foundation excavation, concrete caps on drilled-in piles, HP 12x53 steel piles and pile excavation, Class A concrete and reinforcing steel, Type I bridge approach fill, Class II rip rap with geotextile, drainage, erosion control, seeding and mulching, object markers and approach roadway work to provide conveyance equal to or greater than the original crossing.
