Metra is seeking information from companies who provide uniforms.
Respondents are to provide information, recommendations, catalogs, and brochures about uniform styles, colors, designs, and materials that support a modern customer-facing transit environment while improving employee comfort, mobility, and functionality. Information requested includes company background and uniform industry experience, examples of modern uniform programs in similar service environments such as transit, aviation, hospitality, and public-facing operations, narrative descriptions of proposed modern uniform concepts, fabric and performance feature recommendations, sustainability and lifecycle considerations, samples of collars and fabrics that represent durable and flexible features, and images or sketches for other transportation entities in high use. Metra seeks uniforms that balance professional appearance with modern design, support all-day wear in public transit, accommodate diverse body types and gender expression, include maternity needs, feature durable collars and flexible materials suitable for the Chicago climate, distinguish between front-line employees and managers through branding options, allow embroidery of Metra logo and employee information, offer large-scale sizing from XS–5XL and beyond with tall sizes, and feature a five-year program lifecycle.
