The Project involves the installation of 15 kV circuits underground in direct buried conduit to create a loop feed connecting existing 15 kV Feeder One and Feeder Two that serve the KCIW campus. Primary system work also includes the replacement of select pad-mounted switches. In addition, the Project involves the replacement of the 277/480-volt main service entrance disconnect switch located in the KCIW Vocational Building # 2. The work of the Project must be performed in a sequenced effort coordinated with the KCIW. Associated work of the Project includes, but not limited to, trenching, backfill, pavement cuts and repairs, conduit installation (interior & exterior), handhole installation, and installation and termination of 600 volt and 15 kV rated cables. The work of the Project is within the KCIW security boundary. ADDITIVE ALTERNATIVE #1: Replacement of medium-voltage outdoor pad-mounted gear PDS 3, PDS 4, and PDS 8 including associated terminations of 15 kV rated cables. ADDITIVE ALTERNATIVE #2: Replacement of two 120/208-volt circuit breaker equipped panelboards in the KCIW Minimum Security Building #12 as indicated in the Project drawings.
