A nonmandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on Thursday, September 8th, 2026 at 11:00 am at the City Hall located at 2194 Emory St, Covington, GA 30014. A 5% Bid Bond will be required with bid. A Payment and Performance Bond in the amount of 100% will be required from awarded contractor.

INTRODUCTION:
The City of Covington is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors to complete storm drainage
improvements along Newton Drive in Covington, Georgia. Sealed bids must be received by the
Purchasing Department, Attn: Maranna Gilbert in City Hall by Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 10:00 am.
Bids will be opened at 10:15 am.
The project consists of removing and replacing drainage structures and storm drain pipe, installing
bedding and backfill, constructing reinforced concrete trench caps, replacing concrete improvements,
regrading a drainage ditch, placing riprap and sod, and restoring all disturbed areas.
The Work includes, but is not limited to:
• Removal and replacement of four (4) curb catch basins designated CB-1 through CB-4 with a
consistent finished configuration; CB-1, CB-2, and CB-3 are exposed, while CB-4 is concealed
and shall be located and exposed.
