The Design/Build Firm is responsible for full professional Design and Construction services for the complete design and construction of Elevator Cab Modernization at 13 schools. The scope includes replacement of control systems, door operators, hydraulic power units, and signal fixtures; electrification including traveling cable, Wi-Fi access point in cab, hoist way wiring, and security camera in cab; signalization including car operating panel, hall push button stations, and hall lanterns; power unit (submersible or dry mount); hoistway equipment replacement/installation including ladders, hoist beams, lighting, buffers, sump pump, rails, fire alarm devices, and cab; verification of hoistway condition per code; and demolition of existing elevators. The work also includes pre-construction phase services and construction phase services. The modernized elevator shall comply with DCSD Design Guidelines and all federal, state, and local guidelines.
