Washington requires every licensed aircraft dealer to file a $25,000 bond with the WSDOT Aviation Division under chapter 14.20 RCW. Ours is $1,937.50 flat, set by our carrier’s rate book for this bond — the price you see is the checkout price. The bond issues the moment you pay — no credit review of any kind, not even a soft pull.

License bonds are the simplest thing in surety. Here’s the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That’s the application — no financials, no credit section, no follow-up scavenger hunt.
License bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond (WSDOT form 900-041) and power of attorney arrive by email, ready to file with your aircraft dealer license application or renewal. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
Washington licenses aircraft dealers through the WSDOT Aviation Division and conditions the license on a $25,000 surety bond. The bond is a public-protection guarantee: it stands behind your faithful performance as an aircraft dealer and your compliance with chapter 14.20 RCW, RCW 47.68.250, and the aircraft excise tax law (RCW 82.48.100).
It’s a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the State of Washington (the obligee). If a dealer defaults on its statutory obligations and the state incurs costs or damages, the state can recover against the bond.
The bond must stay active for the life of your license. Aircraft dealer licenses run January through December, with renewals due by January 31 — let the bond lapse and your license lapses with it, so we track it and notify you 60 and 30 days out.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit section, because this application doesn’t collect credit information.
