Before constructing, reconstructing, or repairing a sidewalk, curb, gutter, or other concrete work on public property in the City of Waco, Sec. 22-72 of the city's Code of Ordinances requires a $5,000 surety bond filed with the City Secretary. Ours is $100 flat — the price you see is the checkout price. The application collects no credit information.

A cement contractor bond is about the simplest thing in surety. Here's the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That's the application — no financials, no credit section.
Contractor bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond and power of attorney arrive by email, ready to file with the City Secretary's Office before you begin sidewalk, curb, gutter, or concrete work on public property. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
The City of Waco's Code of Ordinances, Sec. 22-72, bars anyone from constructing, reconstructing, or repairing a sidewalk, curb, gutter, or other concrete work on public property in the city without a $5,000 surety bond on file — approved by the city attorney and delivered to the City Secretary's Office. No bond on file, no work.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the City of Waco (the obligee), protecting the city's streets, curbs, and sidewalks. Contractors bonded under this program are held to a 12-month maintenance period after the work, during which defects must be repaired within 30 days of notice.
It is not insurance for you — if the surety pays the city, you repay the surety. We keep the bond on file for the length of your permit and the full maintenance period so you are never caught mid-project without coverage.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit section, because this application doesn't collect credit information.
