Each branch location of a Texas driver education provider must file a $5,000 surety bond with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) before it operates, under Education Code Chapter 1001. The price you see is the checkout price: $125 flat — and the original bond is mailed to you to sign and file.

Branch bonds are simple. The only wrinkle is that TDLR wants a wet-ink original, so we mail it. Here is the whole thing:
Your business details and the exact branch name and address as licensed — that is the application. No financials, no credit section.
Small fixed license bonds like this clear quickly — the bond is executed right after purchase, with the principal name matched to your branch license.
The original bond is mailed to you. The Principal (you) must sign it before it is filed with TDLR for the branch location. A PDF copy is emailed the same day.
Texas regulates driver education through TDLR under Education Code Chapter 1001. A licensed provider must post a $10,000 bond for its main operation, and a separate $5,000 bond for each branch location before that branch may operate — this page is the branch bond.
The bond is a student-protection guarantee. It stands behind the provider’s obligations to students at that location — principally the refund of prepaid tuition and fees if the school closes or fails to deliver the course — and compliance with the driver-education rules.
TDLR requires the bond information to match the branch license exactly: the school name, legal ownership name, and physical address. Because TDLR files the wet-ink original, we mail it to you to sign and submit. If the surety pays a student claim, you repay the surety.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit section, because this bond doesn’t need one. The original is mailed to you to sign and file with TDLR.
