Oregon requires a fixed $2,500 bond from every commercial driver training school as a condition of its ODOT certificate. This is the version for a school organized as a corporation — ours is $100 flat, set by our carrier's rate book for this bond. The bond issues the moment you pay — no credit review of any kind, not even a soft pull.

Certificate bonds are the simplest thing in surety. Here's the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That's the application — no financials, no credit fields, no follow-up scavenger hunt.
Certificate bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond arrives by email, ready to file with your commercial driver training school certificate application or renewal. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
Oregon licenses commercial driver training schools through the Department of Transportation, and conditions the certificate on a $2,500 surety bond. The bond is a consumer-protection guarantee: that the school conducts business without fraud or fraudulent representation and follows the rules ODOT adopts for driver training schools.
It's a three-party arrangement: the school (the principal), the surety carrier, and the State of Oregon (the obligee). If a school defrauds a student or violates ODOT's school rules and a student is harmed, the harmed party can recover against the bond.
This page is the corporation form of the bond — the only difference from the individual and partnership versions is the legal entity named as principal. The amount, the price, and what the bond guarantees are identical. If you're a sole proprietor or partnership, use the matching page.
These are the actual issuing fields — the application collects no credit information, because this bond doesn't need it.
