Ohio requires a registered sewage treatment system (STS) installer who installs more than one system in a year to maintain a $40,000 statewide bond under ORC Chapter 3718. Ours is $1,200 flat — 3% of the bond amount, the same for every installer. No credit check.

Registration bonds are the simplest thing in surety. Here's the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That's the application — no financials, no credit check section.
Registration bonds like this are among the thousands that issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
The original executed bond is submitted to ODH for your STS installer registration. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
$40,000 bond × 3% = $1,200, one-time per term. Fixed amount, fixed price, multi-year if you want it.
Ohio registers sewage treatment system installers under ORC Chapter 3718 and OAC 3701-29-03 — the contractors who install household sewage and small-flow on-site treatment systems. The registration is conditioned on a statewide surety bond filed with the Department of Health.
The bond amount turns on volume: an installer of more than one STS in a year carries a $40,000 bond, while an installer of only one system a year carries a $25,000 bond. The bond provides financial security for enforcement of the registration law and protects against improper installation work.
Ohio's bonding here is statewide — the law prohibits a local health district from requiring an additional installer bond on top of this one, so a single bond covers you across the districts where you register. The bond must stay active for as long as you are registered.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit check section, because this bond doesn't have one.
