A sewer-contractor license bond is a workmanship-and-compliance guarantee. The Town of Ramapo licenses the contractors that tap into and connect to its sewer system — the bond gives the Town a financial backstop that you follow its sewer specifications and restore the work properly.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the Town of Ramapo (the obligee). If a contractor damages the Town sewer system, fails to meet specifications, or leaves a connection non-compliant, the Town can recover against the bond.
