NV health club bonds.
$250 flat.

Nevada requires every health club and dance studio to register with the Consumer Affairs Unit of the Department of Business and Industry and post security before it advertises or takes a single member, under NRS 598.946. This page is set up for the $25,000 tier an Anytime Fitness franchisee typically files — ours is $250 flat, and the price you see is the checkout price. The bond issues the moment you pay; the application includes a soft credit pull only — it never affects your score.

About this bond

What it is and who needs it.

What the bond actually guarantees

Nevada regulates health clubs and dance studios as a consumer-protection matter, not a professional license: NRS 598.940 to 598.966 require an owner to register with the Consumer Affairs Unit of the Department of Business and Industry and deposit security before advertising services or conducting business, under NRS 598.946. This page is built for the $25,000 tier, which the Unit's schedule applies to a club with roughly 1,200 to 1,499 members — the amount an Anytime Fitness franchisee at that membership size typically posts.

It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal, the franchisee registering the club), the surety carrier, and the Consumer Affairs Division (the obligee), with the club's members as the protected parties. The security indemnifies against loss caused by the owner's failure to comply with the health-club statutes, bankruptcy, or breach of a membership agreement.

It is not insurance for you — if the surety pays a claim, you repay the surety. NRS 598.946 requires an owner to report membership size to the Unit quarterly and adjust the security amount if the club moves into a different tier, so keep us posted if your membership count crosses a threshold and we'll re-issue at the right amount.

NRS 598.946NRS 598.946 requires an owner of a dance studio or health club to register with the Consumer Affairs Unit of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry and deposit security before advertising services or conducting business in the state, on a schedule tied to membership size — from $10,000 for fewer than 400 members up to $250,000 for 25,000 or more, with a $100,000 minimum for any club that pre-sells lessons or services. This page is the $25,000 tier. Confirm your current membership count with the Unit before filing, since the statute requires the amount to track your actual membership size.

FAQ

Common questions.

How much is the Nevada health club bond? The premium is $250 flat for the $25,000 tier — set by our carrier's rate book, and the price you see is the checkout price. NRS 598.946 sets the security amount by membership size, so there is no quote process once your tier is known.
Do I pay the $25,000?No. You pay $250. The $25,000 is the surety's maximum liability if a valid claim is made against the security — not a deposit, and nobody holds your money.
Is there a credit check? The application includes a credit consent, but it authorizes a soft credit pull only — a soft inquiry that never affects your score. No hard inquiry ever runs on this bond, and the $250 price does not change with the result.
What if my membership size changes?NRS 598.946 ties the security amount to your membership tier, and clubs report membership to the Consumer Affairs Unit quarterly. If you move into a different tier — say, past 1,500 members — the Unit can require a larger security amount. Tell us and we'll re-issue at the correct tier.
Do I need a separate bond for each club location?Registration and security are filed at the owner level with the Consumer Affairs Unit under NRS 598.946, based on your total membership, not per location. Confirm your specific filing structure with the Unit if you operate more than one Nevada location.
