Alongside the main $20,000 or $40,000 wrecking bond, Chicago requires a separate $500 bond guaranteeing the site is restored and leveled once a demolition is finished. Ours is $100 flat, and the price you see is the checkout price. The application collects no credit information.

A restoration bond is about the simplest filing in the demolition permit stack. Here's the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That's the application — no financials, no credit section.
Small fixed bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond arrives by email, ready to file with the City Clerk alongside your main wrecking bond. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
Chicago's Building Code conditions a wrecking permit on more than just the main $20,000 or $40,000 demolition bond — it also requires a separate $500 bond that specifically guarantees the site is restored and leveled once the wrecking is complete, rather than left as an open lot with debris or an unsafe grade.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the City of Chicago (the obligee), protecting neighboring property owners and the public from an unfinished demolition site. If the site isn't restored and leveled as required, the City can draw against this bond to complete the work.
It is not insurance for you — if the surety pays a claim, you repay the surety. Because it rides alongside the main wrecking bond, we typically write both together, but each is its own filing with its own term.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit section, because this application doesn't collect credit information.
