Business services bonds.
$260 flat.

Same coverage, larger crew: this tier of the Business Services Bond carries the same $2,500 loss limit as our smallest tier, priced for a business with 16 or more employees. More employees on client premises means more exposure for the surety, which is why the rate steps up — $260 flat, the price you see is the checkout price, and the application collects no credit information.

About this bond

What it is and who needs it.

What the bond actually guarantees

This is the same $2,500-limit fidelity bond product as our entry tier, priced for a business with 16 or more employees. It covers a loss when an employee of yours steals from a client — not from you — while performing work on the client's premises. The larger the crew you send into client homes and offices, the more claim exposure the surety is pricing for, which is why the premium is higher at the same $2,500 limit.

It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and your client as the protected party for any given job. If an employee is proven to have stolen from a client while performing services you were hired for, the client can make a claim against the bond up to its $2,500 limit.

It is not insurance for you — if the surety pays a claim, it can seek recovery from the employee responsible, not from your business generally. Coverage does not extend to volunteers or 1099 contractors — only your own employees are covered. There is no government statute behind this bond; it exists because clients and their contracts ask for it.

Client contract — not a government statuteA Business Services Bond is typically a private, contractual requirement set by the client, property manager, or commercial contract you're servicing — not a federal, state, or municipal statute. Requesting parties vary by industry: property management companies commonly require one of a janitorial vendor, and service contracts (including some government service contracts) can specify one as a condition of the engagement. Confirm the limit your specific client or contract requires before applying.

You need this bond if you're

A larger janitorial or cleaning company with 16 or more employees on client sites
A staffing or facilities-services firm whose headcount has grown past the small-crew tier
Bidding on a large commercial or property-management contract that lists a business services bond as a requirement
Renewing an expiring bond as your employee count has grown since your last filing

FAQ

Common questions.

How much is the $2,500 Business Services Bond for 16+ employees? The premium is $260 flat — set by our carrier's rate book for this coverage limit and employee-count tier. Because the limit and tier are fixed, there is no quote process.
Why does this cost more than the small-crew tier? The coverage limit is the same $2,500 — the price steps up because more employees on client premises means more claim exposure for the surety. The 6-or-fewer tier is $109; this 16-or-more tier is $260.
Do I pay the $2,500?No. You pay $260. The $2,500 is the surety's maximum payout if a valid claim is proven — not a deposit, and nobody holds your money.
Is there a credit check? The application collects no credit information, so most applicants approve instantly. If a check ever runs on this bond, it's a soft pull that won't affect your score.
What if I need more than $2,500 of coverage? We also write $5,000 and $50,000 limits for a 7-to-15-employee business — pick the coverage limit your client's contract requires rather than the employee-count tier alone.
