Business services bond ($10,000).
$175 flat.

If your staff work inside a client's home or office — cleaning, caregiving, catering, landscaping, security — a $10,000 business services bond reimburses that client if an employee steals from or damages their property. For a shop of 6 or fewer employees, ours is $175 flat — the price you see is the checkout price, and the application collects no credit information.

About this bond

What it is and who needs it.

What the bond actually guarantees

A business services bond — also called an employee dishonesty bond or a janitorial bond — is not a government-mandated filing. No federal statute or state licensing board requires it. It exists because clients who let your staff into their homes or offices want protection if an employee steals cash, property, or damages the premises, and many client contracts, property managers, and procurement RFPs make proof of bonding a condition of the job.

It's a three-party arrangement in form, but functions closer to first-party coverage: you (the principal) buy the bond, and any client harmed by a covered employee's theft or damage can make a claim against it, up to the $10,000 face amount. This tier covers a business with 6 or fewer employees who have direct access to client premises.

It is not liability insurance — it responds to dishonest acts by your own staff, not accidents, and if the surety pays a claim, you repay the surety. Coverage typically excludes volunteers and 1099 contractors; check your policy note if your crew includes either.

Private contractual requirement — not a government mandateNo federal or state statute requires a business services bond. It is a commercially available fidelity product that a client, general contractor, property manager, or facilities-services RFP commonly requires in the service agreement before granting a company's staff access to homes, offices, or secure areas. We frame it here as what it is: proof of bonding for a client relationship, not a regulatory filing.

You need this bond if you're

Sending staff into client homes or offices — cleaning, home care, catering, landscaping, or security work
Bidding on a contract that requires proof of bonding before staff get site or key access
A small operation with 6 or fewer employees who directly handle client property
Renewing an expiring business services bond to keep an existing client relationship current

FAQ

Common questions.

How much is the $10,000 business services bond for 6 or fewer employees? The premium is $175 flat — set by our carrier's rate book for this coverage tier, the same for every eligible business. The $10,000 face amount is fixed for this tier, so there is no quote process.
Do I pay the $10,000?No. You pay $175. The $10,000 is the surety's maximum reimbursement if a client makes a valid claim for employee theft or damage — not a deposit, and nobody holds your money.
How fast will I have the bond?Business services bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase — many businesses finish the application and have the bond in the same sitting. At most, 1–2 business days.
Is there a credit check? The application collects no credit information, so most applicants approve instantly. If a check ever runs on this bond, it's a soft pull that won't affect your score.
What if I have more than 6 employees? Then you need the next tier up — the same $10,000 coverage priced for 7 to 15 employees. We write that one too; pick the mid-size business services bond instead.
