Arkansas conditions a residential roofing registration on a $15,000 surety bond filed with the Contractors Licensing Board. Ours is $450 flat — 3% of the bond amount, identical for every roofer. The application is five minutes, with no credit section on this bond.

Registration bonds are the simplest thing in surety. Here's the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That's the application — no financials, no credit check section on this bond.
Small registration bonds like this issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond and power of attorney arrive by email, ready to file with your residential roofing registration. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
$15,000 bond × 3% = $450, one-time per term. Fixed amount, fixed price, multi-year if you want it.
Arkansas requires residential roofing contractors to register with the Contractors Licensing Board and file a $15,000 surety bond. The bond is a compliance-and-consumer-protection guarantee — it stands behind your residential roofing work and your fair dealing with homeowners.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the Contractors Licensing Board together with the homeowners you serve. Under A.C.A. 17-25-604, the bond is conditioned on your compliance with the Residential Contractor Licensing Law — roofing, roof-deck, and sheet-metal roofing work done to standard and contracts performed.
It is not insurance for you. A homeowner harmed by a roofer's failure to comply can recover against the bond — and if the surety pays, you repay the surety. The bond must stay active for your registration to stay valid; we track it and notify you 60 and 30 days out.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit check section, because this bond doesn't have one.
