Center Support Services Mental Health Consultant for Pine Ridge JC

The CMHC shall provide ON-SITE Mental Health Care services for all students on center, and perform applicant file reviews, staff training, student training, student support groups as requested in accordance with applicable Federal laws/regulations, OSHA and HIPAA requirements, state and local laws, and guidelines of the American Psychology Association. Mental health services must include analysis and use of the most efficient and cost-effective practice of contemporary, evidence-based health care, coordinating and integrating the Mental Health care services program with other health and wellness components on Center. The general emphasis must be on early identification and diagnosis of mental health problems, basic mental health care and mental health promotion, prevention, and education designed to help students overcome barriers to employability. Specific tasks include conducting mental health assessments for applicants and students, providing care and case management for students with chronic mental health conditions, providing various therapies including short-term therapy and crisis intervention, conducting mental health promotion and education activities, and participating in Disability Accommodations Committee meetings.
