561A4-23-101 Replace Hot Water Heaters

The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to demolish selected existing water heaters, recirculation pumps, and associated steam, condensate, and domestic water piping and furnish and install new semi-instantaneous steam to hot water heaters, recirculation pumps, condensate receiver/pump, piping, insulation, electrical feeders, disconnects, and controls as indicated in the 100% construction documents. Work also includes startup, testing, balancing, commissioning and training the VA plumbing staff on the new equipment. The water heaters shall be replaced sequentially so that only one unit is taken out of service at one time, and the other remains in full operation. This approach will ensure continuous domestic hot water service to the building throughout construction, with at least one operational hot water heater. Contractor shall perform all work in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications, VA design standards, applicable codes and regulations, and the phasing requirements described herein.
