Department of AgricultureIssuing agency·Idaho·via the SAM.gov Get Opportunities APIThe intent of this acquisition and the resultant contract(s) are to obtain Contractor operated and maintained Turbine powered, Multi-engine, Amphibious, Fixed-Wing, Water Scooping Aircraft services. The aircraft shall have full or interim Interagency Airtanker Board (IAB) approval as a multi-engine water scooper. The primary use of water scooping aircraft under this contract will be for initial attack (IA) and extended attack of wildland fires.
The contractor must provide and maintain aircraft that meet detailed specifications including a minimum 1,400 U.S. gallon tank capacity, IAB approval, and extensive avionics and maintenance requirements. The contractor shall operate the aircraft to scoop water from approved freshwater or saltwater sources and deliver water drops on wildland fires, with a 15-minute airborne response time after notification. The contract includes a one-year base period and nine one-year options, with firm-fixed-price daily availability and hourly flight rates. The contractor must also furnish a full-time Mechanic (Crew Chief) for each aircraft, comply with flight and duty limitations, and adhere to environmental and safety programs including a Safety Management System (SMS).
