Build-Ready” Site Nomination Request for Information

Description of goods to services to be bid:

By responding to this RFI, interested elected officials, community members, private companies, or other interested parties are able to nominate sites for consideration as a Build-Ready project. With the information provided through this process, NYSERDA will then undertake an assessment of viability for the location(s) as a prospective Build-Ready site.

March 28, 2024:

The following changes have been made to NYSERDA’s Large-Scale Renewables “Build-Ready” Site Nomination Request for Information (RFI) 4464

1. Extended the submission date to December 30, 2027
2. Made edits to the "Introduction" section to further describe the Build-Ready process.
3. Removed information about the webinar and changed the section to "Response Details."
4. Made edits to the "Preferred Sites for Consideration" section to adjust the criteria of preferred sites.
5. Changed the "Technical Response" section to "Required Information."
6. Made edits to the "Site Analysis and Development Process" section to further describe the Origination phase.

September 10, 2021:

1. Changed the due date from July 21, 2021 to December 30, 2025.

Eligibility/Qualifications Requirements/Preferences:

NYSERDA is seeking prospective Build-Ready sites that:

1. Fall within one of the following land use types:
   • Are 65 acres or larger. Sites smaller than 65 acres will not be considered through this RFI.
   • Dormant electric generating sites.
   • Former industrial sites.
   • Existing or abandoned commercial sites.
   • Brownfields.
   • Landfills.
   • Other underutilized sites.
2. Have flat or gently sloped terrain.
