These programs generate a variety of data types (physical/chemical, biological, and continuous/profile) which eventually feed into NHDES' Environmental Monitoring Database (EMD), an Oracle-based database intended to serve as a repository for environmental monitoring data. Currently, WMB monitoring programs collecting water quality samples use the JCLC sample tracking system, a Microsoft Access login database, to generate unique sample IDs, list the parameters that need to be analyzed, and track the samples from receipt to EMD import.
This RFP is to establish a new Laboratory Information Management Servies (LIMS) platform that retains connectivity to the EMD. The successful partner will offer an industry standard LIMS or similar technological approach which will be accessible to authorized WMB staff and partners. The system will be capable of documenting, tracking, and retaining multiple data types throughout standard laboratory procedures (i.e. sample receipt, analysis, data entry, quality control, finalization) and automatically flowing completed records to the EMD.
The successful vendor will provide an industry-standard LIMS or similar technological approach accessible to authorized Watershed Management Bureau (WMB) staff and partners. The system must document, track, and retain multiple data types (physical/chemical, biological, continuous/profile) throughout standard laboratory procedures (sample receipt, analysis, data entry, quality control, finalization) and automatically flow completed records to the EMD. Key capabilities include role-based security, synchronization with EMD picklists, automated generation of labels and Chain-of-Custody forms, CSV file import, data entry by individual parameter, QAQC workflows, and automated daily export of finalized records to the EMD. The vendor must also provide training, implementation, and five years of subscription access.
