The contractor must remove the existing Defender filter and all associated piping from the ten horsepower pump, move the existing filter to a City storage facility at Dix Park and prepare it for shipping per manufacturer's instructions, and install the Owner-provided Neptune Benson High-Rate Fiberglass Filter Tanks 3448SHFFGS-3R. Work includes removing/replacing all piping from the existing pump and filter, installing new plumbing to connect the new filters to the flanged return line, facilitating removal of control wiring/programming associated with the existing Defender's control of the filter pump VFD, installing pressure gauges, sight glass and air relief, plumbing the backwash line to the backwash pit, loading sand filter media to manufacturer-specified depth, relocating the UV system control as needed, and performing initial startup to verify operation and check for leaks. All piping must be Schedule 80 and include a method to accommodate automatic high level drain bypass. The contractor shall include an $8,000 Owner's Contingency Allowance in the base bid.
