The North Carolina Department of Transportation is requesting bids for
milling, resurfacing, & pavement marking type work in Alexander County. The
Contractor is to furnish labor, material, equipment and traffic control:

The availability date for this contract will be December 1, 2026.
The completion date for this contract will be May 31, 2028.

BID OPENING:
Sealed bids must be received in the Division Engineer’s Office, located at 1710 E. Marion
Street, Shelby, N.C. 28152, by 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Bids must be
submitted electronically through the approved electronic bidding provider as detailed in
the Instructions to Bidders. Paper bids will not be accepted for this project.
Potential Bidders must be prequalified as Bidder or P.O.
The contractor is to furnish labor, material, equipment and traffic control for milling, resurfacing, and pavement markings on various secondary roads in Alexander County. The work includes milling existing asphalt pavement approximately 1.5 inches in depth, placing asphalt concrete surface courses (Type S9.5B and S9.5C), shoulder reconstruction using aggregate shoulder borrow, patching existing pavement, adjusting manholes and valve boxes, and installing pavement markings including thermoplastic and paint. The project covers approximately 21.922 miles across 10 maps on routes such as SR-1605 / Paul Payne Store Rd, SR-1336 / Moore Mountain Rd, SR-1490 / Moose Dr, SR-1528 / Circle Loop, SR-1327 / Piney Grove Rd, SR-1148 / River Hills Ct, SR-1156 / Richey Rd, SR-1157 / Sam Hefner Rd, SR-1154 / Friendly Church Rd, and SR-1638 / County Line Rd.
