NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is requesting bids for the following project in Division
One:
DA00708 – M/V Carteret Credit Dry Dock (CDD)
WBS Element: 16.401
The Date of Availability for this Contract is December 1, 2026.
The Completion Date for this Contract is April 30, 2027.
There is NO MBE/WBE Goal for this project.
Any firm that wishes to bid as a prime contractor shall be prequalified as a Bidder or PO Prime

Bid Opening will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday October 21, 2026.
Prospective Bidders shall utilize the Division One Conference Call Phone Number
(866) 590-5055 access code (2659015) to join the October 21, 2026 Virtual Bid Opening. Prospective
Bidders are encouraged to join the Bid Opening Conference Call approximately five minutes prior
to the Bid Opening, as the bids will be read promptly at 2:00 pm.
The work includes dry docking the M/V Carteret, crop and renew steel on bulkhead, deck, and hull plates; spot prep and paint voids, tank rooms, steering compartment, and engine room bilges; replace zinc anodes on keel cooler guards, rudders, sea chests, bow thruster, and vessel hull; blast and paint all decks, hull above and below DLWL, and superstructure; clean and clear all deck drains; inspect and maintain engine water cooling system, global davit, main deck hatches, propellers and tailshafts, rudders, sea chests, strainers, valves, and sewage system; perform high-pressure water wash on hull and superstructure; modify HVAC; overhaul main engines; open, clean, and certify gas free bilges, holds, and enclosed areas; remove, maintain, repair, and reinstall all main deck watertight doors; renew window gaskets; provide shipyard services; and conduct startup, dock trials, and sea trials.
