NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS
Subject: Invitation to Bid on Division Contract
Project Description: DD00540
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is requesting bids for GRADING,
DRAINAGE, PAVING AND STRUCTURE work located on SR 1745, BRIDGE OVER TAR
RIVER RESERVOIR in NASH COUNTY.
PRE-BID MEETING
A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the
Division Four Conference Room located at 509 Ward Blvd. in Wilson. Bids received from
companies which are absent from the pre-bid meeting will not be considered.
Bids must be prepared and submitted electronically through Bid Express®. You will only have
one method of submission. Bids must be submitted by 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 24, 2026.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI
of the Civil Rights of 1964 (78 Stat.252) and the Regulations of the Department of Transportation
(49 C.F.R., Part 21), issued pursuant to such act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively
insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this notice will be awarded to the lowest
responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, color, or national origin.
The work consists of grading, drainage, paving, and structure construction associated with replacing a bridge on SR 1745 over the Tar River Reservoir, including roadway embankment, milling and overlay of approach pavement, guardrail installation, erosion control measures, rock plating, rip rap benching at abutments, pavement markings, signing, and a temporary road closure with an off-site detour during construction.
