NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is requesting bids for the following project in Division
One:
DA00709 – Fine Milling and Micro Surfacing on 2 Sections of US-17 Bypass in Bertie County.

The Date of Availability for this Contract is November 30, 2026.
The Completion Date for this Contract is November 30, 2027.
There is NO MBE/WBE Goal for this project.
Any firm that wishes to bid as a prime contractor shall be prequalified as a Bidder or PO Prime Contractor

Bid Opening will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday October 21, 2026.
Prospective Bidders shall utilize the Division One Conference Call Phone Number
(866) 590-5055 access code (2659015) to join the October 21, 2026 Virtual Bid Opening. Prospective
Bidders are encouraged to join the Bid Opening Conference Call approximately five minutes prior to
the Bid Opening, as the bids will be read promptly at 2:00 pm.
The work includes fine milling of existing asphalt concrete pavement to remove the existing Open-Graded Asphalt Friction Course, and application of micro surfacing single course Type III. It also includes incidental milling of ramps, asphalt plant mix pavement repair, thermoplastic and paint pavement markings (lines, symbols, and characters), removal of snowplowable delineation, permanent raised pavement markers, work zone advance/general warning signing, and temporary traffic control. The project length is 12.96 miles, with two sections: US-17 Bypass North from Bridge #167 to End Divided Highway (6.47 miles) and US-17 Bypass South from Begin Divided Highway to Bridge #168 (6.49 miles).
