Subject: Request for Quotation
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is requesting bids for the above-mentioned
project located in Division 8.
Bid Opening Date: Tuesday, November 24, 2026 at 2:00 P.M.
The date of availability for this contract is January 5, 2027
The completion date for this contract is June 30, 2027
Bids shall be prepared and submitted electronically using NCDOT’s approved electronic bidding
provider, refer to Article 102-8(B) of the 2024 Standard Specifications.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI
of the Civil Rights of 1964 (78 Stat. 252) and the Regulations of the Department of Transportation
(49 C.F.R., Part 21), issued pursuant to such act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively
insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this notice will be awarded to the lowest
responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, color, or national origin.

The project covers signal improvements on US 220 Business at Pritchard Street, Atkinson Street at Church Street, the I-73/74/US 220 Ramp at NC 42/SR 1004 (W. Salisbury Street), and SR 2080 (S. May Street) at SR 2036 (E. Indiana Avenue). Quantities include temporary traffic control, 16-inch pedestrian signal heads with countdown, signal cable, 12-inch vehicle signal heads in 3-, 4- and 5-section configurations, APS detector stations, central control units, paved and unpaved trenching for 2-inch conduit, junction boxes, 1/2-inch, 1-inch and 2-inch risers with weatherhead, inductive loop sawcut, 14-2 lead-in cable, Type I posts and Type II pedestals with foundations, signal cabinet foundations, 2070LX controllers with cabinets, Type 170 detector cards, and cabinet base extenders. The contractor furnishes all materials, machinery, tools and labor and performs the work in accordance with the 2024 Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures.
