The Iowa Department of Transportation STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR
HIGHWAY AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION, SERIES 2023, plus applicable General
Supplemental Specifications, Developmental Specifications, Supplemental
Specifications AND Special Provisions shall apply to construction work on this contract.
500.01 *** WINTER WORK ***
The free time allowed between November 15 and April 1 will not be permitted on this
project.
The project involves repairs to a 312' x 30'-0 continuous welded girder bridge, including removals, heat straightening of beams, structural steel, blast cleaning of structural steel, containment, painting of structural steel, and mobilization. Roadway items include painted symbols and legends, symbols and legends removed, safety closures, temporary barrier rail (concrete), traffic control, portable dynamic message signs, and temporary crash cushions.
