The work to be done shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment
necessary to construct the Proposed Improvements to serve Kennedy Place Rural
Workforce Housing Initiative as shown on the construction drawings. In general,
construction consists of the installation of low pressure force main system consisting of ±
2,614 linear feet of 2" HDPE Force Main, ± 995 linear feet of 3" HDPE Force Main, ±
3,659 linear feet of 4" HDPE Force Main, ± 0.9 miles of urban roadway including grading,
drainage, base and pavement, concrete sidewalk, fire lane , curb and gutter; ± 3,024 linear
feet of storm drain pipe of various sizes; ± 369 liner feet of 6-inch PVC water main; ±
4,967 linear feet of 8-inch PVC water main, including associated gate valves, fittings, ± 70
residential water meters and services lines, fire hydrants; ± 160 linear feet of 16-inch
casing, jack and bore under US Highway 84; ± 8,448 linear feet of 2-inch HDPE natural
gas main, erosion and sediment control measures and all associated measures to complete
the project according to the plans and specifications. Time allotted for completion of work
is 270 consecutive calendar days to substantial completion. Work shall be complete and
ready for contract close-out with 300 consecutive calendar days. All work shall be
completed in accordance with the plans and specifications. The work will be awarded in
one (1) Contract

1.01. COMPETITIVE COST SEALED BIDS
Sealed Bids for the construction of the Proposed Improvements to serve Kennedy Place
Rural Workforce Housing Initiative will be received, by City of Cairo, at 119 North
Broad Street, Cairo, GA 39828, until 11:00 AM, Friday, November 6, 2026, local time,
at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. No bid may be
withdrawn after the closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days.
1.02. CONTRACTOR LICENSE
Any Contractor submitting a bid must be a pre-qualified Georgia Department of
Transportation Contractor. All utility work must be performed by a licensed Utility
Contractor in the State of Georgia. License numbers must be written on the face of the bid
envelope. No bid will be opened unless the license number is clearly shown. See
Instructions to Bidders for additional bidding requirements.
