The program seeks to support projects that develop and field-validate integrated stimulation and enhanced recovery approaches to double per-well recovery efficiency from low-permeability formations while maintaining or reducing per-unit cost and wastewater volume. Technologies of interest include waterless or low-water fracturing, advanced recovery fluids, engineered proppants, and advanced diagnostics and modeling. Projects must include laboratory validation using test-site-specific samples and field testing at realistic well-scale conditions. Submissions must address integration of stimulation and enhanced recovery, integrated sensing and modeling, laboratory validation, a field test site with a permitting pathway, a benchmarking plan, technology readiness for downhole field trial, and a techno-economic analysis.
