The contractor shall provide technical research, engineering, development, and operational services to NNSA/NFO and DNN in environment, safety, and health; national security; and environmental restoration and waste management. Specific areas include nuclear nonproliferation, radiation safety, chemistry, hydrology, geology, paleohydrology, meteorology, climatology, atmospheric sciences, remote sensing, GIS, radiological sciences, transport mechanisms, risk assessment, environmental monitoring, remediation, archaeology, cultural resources, historic preservation, science education, and community outreach. The contractor will execute technical studies, develop strategies, provide program management assistance, prepare cost estimates, support baseline development, conduct document reviews, peer review articles, and prepare reports. Work includes hydrologic science and engineering support for the Underground Test Area (UGTA) sites, environmental monitoring via the Community Environmental Monitoring Program (CEMP) at over 24 locations, cultural resources and historic preservation support including archaeological reconnaissance and Native American interactions, and support to the Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation (DNN) Program including diagnostics and data collection.
