RFP for Security Guard Services: The Colorado Department of Education is soliciting competitive, responsive proposals from experienced organizations to provide security guard services to ensure the safety of employees and visitors, maintain order, safeguard government property, and prevent interference or disruption of business at the State Office Building located at 201 E. Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80203. The contractor shall provide two armed security guards on-site Monday through Friday, with staggered hours (7:30am–4:30pm and 8:30am–5:30pm), to perform duties including monitoring the front entrance, patrolling the building exterior three times daily, operating weapons detectors and bag screeners, managing visitor access via the Verkada Guest System, managing mail and packages via the Verkada Mailroom System, monitoring security cameras, responding to alarms and incidents, providing crowd control, escorting individuals, and completing security incident reports. The contractor must also develop Post Orders during the start-up period (May 1 – June 30, 2027) and provide a back-up security guard within one hour if the assigned guard is unavailable.
