Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Benefits
The awarded vendor will administer fully-insured STD and LTD plans for approximately 39,500 Colorado state employees. Services include claims adjudication, payment, customer service, underwriting, reporting, and coordination with benefit offsets such as Colorado FAMLI, PERA Disability, and Workers' Compensation. The vendor must also manage eligibility, implement a smooth transition from the current carrier (Unum), provide monthly self-billed premium reports, and comply with all applicable state and federal regulations including ERISA and WCAG 2.1+ accessibility standards. The contract is expected to commence April 1, 2027, with an initial term ending June 30, 2029, and potential extensions up to five years.
