The SFY27 Emerging Adult Reentry Initiative is authorized under Chapter 126 of the Massachusetts Acts of 2026, An Act Making Appropriations for Fiscal Year 2027. This AGF is open only to current nonprofit recipients of the SFY26 Emerging Adult Reentry Initiative (EARI).
The grant funds continuation of reentry services for emerging adults (ages 18-25) including pre-release transition plans, education programs, workforce readiness, life skills, counseling, and post-release case management for at least 12 months. Recipients must collaborate with MA DOC and/or Sheriff's Offices, submit quarterly financial and programmatic reports, track participant data including recidivism outcomes, and adhere to evidence-based program fidelity. Services are provided at six currently funded community reentry program sites across Massachusetts.
