The existing culvert is 8.7' high by 7.8' wide and is being replaced with a 10' wide and 7' tall RCBC. The culvert replacement is occurring to address aging infrastructure and to improve the reliability of infrastructure for the traveling public. In support of this culvert replacement, we are dredging the downstream pond which is located on the Quail Hollow Country Club near the 15th hole. The dredging will remove sediment that has built up near the downstream end of the existing culvert and prevent sediment transport downstream which would negatively impact existing ponds and habitats. In addition, we will be adding inlets and upgrading roadside drainage on Out-Of-Bounds Drive which has significant spread in larger storm events from road drainage. The work on Out-Of-Bounds Drive will increase the safety of the traveling public using that roadway during rain events.
