The selected MRO must review and verify laboratory-confirmed nonnegative drug test results, adulterated/substituted results, and invalid results promptly after receiving them via Quest database. The MRO must complete verification processes and issue determinations within DOT timeframes, report verified results to the DER in a timely manner, and review at least 5% of negative results reported by staff to ensure proper performance. The MRO must also stay current on DOT drug testing program procedures and regulations, collection, chain of custody and recordkeeping protocols.
