Bids shall be prepared in accordance with the IFB and Standard Form 114 (Sale of Government Property -- Bid and Award).
Bids are due no later than 2:00 P.M. local time on Thursday, November 19, 2026, and shall be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to Commanding Officer, Attention: K9 Timber Sale, NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic, Building 2516, Naval Weapons Station, Crane, Indiana, 47522.
Sealed bids will be received for the purchase and removal of approximately 1,768 trees estimated to contain 511,280 board feet computed according to Doyle Log Scale to be harvested from approximately 197 acres within the boundaries of Naval Weapons Station Crane, Crane, Indiana. Bids will be opened publicly at 2:00 P.M. local time on Thursday, November 19, 2026, and read at the office of NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic, 300 Highway 361, Building 2516, Conference Room “B” at Naval Weapons Station, Crane, Indiana, 47522. This is a firm-fixed price lump sum/per unit sale. Inspection of the timber offered for sale and removal is invited and strongly encouraged. The work includes cutting and harvesting designated trees within four tracts totaling approximately 197 acres on Naval Weapons Station Crane, Indiana. The Purchaser must furnish all labor, materials, and equipment for cutting, loading, removal, and ownership of the timber. Timber to be cut is marked with paint. The contract term is two years from award, with no harvesting from April 1 to October 1 due to Indiana Bat habitat restrictions. The Purchaser must comply with performance specifications covering cutting and utilization, slash disposal, protection of streams and soil, pre-harvest conference, logging operations, access points, scaling, and emergency removal. Government safety requirements include an Accident Prevention Plan, Activity Hazard Analysis, and a Site Safety and Health Officer. The Purchaser must also provide insurance and a performance bond or irrevocable letter of credit.
