This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for 3rd Party Elevator Inspection and Testing Services in the Palo Alto area.

Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and tools to perform ASME A17.1 recommended 6-month, 12-month, 36-month, and 60-month inspection and testing of elevators at five VA locations: Palo Alto Main Campus, Menlo Park Medical Center, Livermore Medical Center, Mountain View Center, and Sunnyvale. Contractor shall inspect all elevators in accordance with ASME 17.1 Table N-1, perform at least one 5-year inspection per elevator in the first year, and schedule semi-annual inspections typically in August and February. Contractor shall provide written analysis of each elevator including life cycle, life expectancy, equipment replacement recommendations, and communication/network upgrade recommendations. Services include on-site consultation available no later than 2 business days from notification and telephone/fax/email consultation during normal business hours, all at no additional charge. Contractor shall conduct inspections in accordance with the most current edition of ASME A17.1, A17.2, and A17.3, and shall provide one print book and one electronic searchable copy of the most recent edition of ASME A17.1, A17.2, and A17.3 in the base year and once more upon publication of new edition or final year of performance. Contractor shall submit inspection schedule 15 days from award date and request to proceed 30 days in advance. Contractor shall provide documentation including summary sheets for each campus, separate documents for each elevator inspected, ASME deficiency references, inspection checklists for electric and hydraulic elevators, and certificates for each inspection. All reports must follow specified nomenclature format and be submitted in electronic searchable format within seven calendar days of inspection completion.
