FY27 BOTANY SURVEYS

The contractor will conduct special status vascular and nonvascular plant surveys in timber units (conifer stands ≥80 years old), silviculture units (conifer stands <80 years old), and fuels units (mixed plant communities). Work includes second-year surveys for Fritillaria gentneri, walk-ins to unit boundaries beyond 0.5 mile, special status plant site documentation within and outside survey units, and haul route surveys. Surveys follow the intuitive controlled method, with complete surveys for units under 2.5 acres. Field work occurs between approximately April 1 and August 31 for vascular plants, with Fritillaria gentneri surveys timed to its bloom period (approximately April 1 to May 31). The contractor must document surveys via GPS tracks, survey report forms, species lists, and GeoBOB mobile data collection, and monument special status plant populations with flagging and signs.
