The scope of work includes hazardous materials abatement, building envelope water infiltration repairs, upgrades to building-wide mechanical and plumbing systems and controls, electrical power and lighting/security/communications systems, fire protection and fire detection systems, and complete life safety upgrades. Exterior site improvements include a new fire lane, full roof replacements, exterior window and storefront entrance replacements, and exterior masonry repairs. The work also includes constructing a new passenger elevator, structural improvements to address seismic requirements, reconfiguration of interior spaces including new multi-purpose areas on the first floor and relocation of the SMART clinic from the third to first deck, and minor renovation work to the existing NHCNE facilities.
